ابن حزم من العلماء الذين طبعوا بصمتهم على نتاجهم الأدبي، فقد اتسعت علومه لكل نواحي المعرفة في عصره وامتلأ حتى غدا بحراً زاخراً متلاطم الموج بعيد الغور، فإن التعامل مع علومه الكثيرة المتنوعة والشاملة يحتاج إلى دراسة متأنية واعية وصبر طويل، وعمل دائب متواصل، ولا سيما تلك الرسائل التي لم يعطها حقَّها الدارسون والباحثون من قبْل أو أنَّها دُرست دراسة عامة سريعة، فحاولتُ رصد السمات اللغوية الخاصة لأسلوب ابن حزم من خلال دراسة نصية لمجموعة مختارة من نصوصه تم اختيارها وفق معايير فكرية لغوية؛ لتشمل معظم نتاجه إلى حد مناسب لأغراض هذه الدراسة، وبناءً على ذلك تم استخلاص السمات الخاصة لكتابة ابن حزم على المستوى اللغوي والمضموني والفني.
شهدت الدراسات اللسانية تحوُّلاً وتوجُّهاً نحو الاهتمام بقضايا النصّ واتّخاذه موضوعاً للدراسة. وكان لمدرستَي كوبنهاجن وبراغ اللغويتين أثرٌ واضح في توجيه النظر النقدي إلى علم اللغة، والإفادة منه في تطوير النظر للنصّ ونحوِه، بعد أن كان مركّزاً في الجملة ونحوها، وقد نشأ نحوُ النصّ من البنيوية الوصفية القائمة على نحوِ الجملة.
وإذا كان من الصعب فصل هذا العلم عن العلوم الأخرى انفصالاً كاملاً؛ لأنه يرتكز على خاصية جوهرية له تَحول دون ذلك، ألا وهي خاصية التداخل، فإنّه لا خلاف حول استقائه أكثر أُسسه ومعارفه من علومٍ تتداخل معه تداخلاً شديداً، بحيث يمكن أن يشكل أدواته في حرية تامة، ثم تصبّ نتائج تحليلاته في هذه العلوم، فتزيدها ثراءً، وتكشف عن كثيرٍ من ألوان الغموض في مسائلها وقضاياها.
وكان لذيوع أفكار مدرسة دي سوسير وكتابه "علم اللغة العام" وتفريقه بين اللغة والكلام، أثرُ مهمّ في تحليل النصوص الأدبية، والبحث في علاقات النظام اللغوي. كما كان لهذه المدرسة أثرٌ أيضاً في تطوُّر المناهج اللغوية والنقدية التي تهتمّ ببنية النص ومعايير بنائه.
