في أواخر الحرب العالمية الثانية، وبينما هولندا ما زالت محتلة، تقتل مجموعة من المقاومين شرطيًّا عميلًا، وتنتهي الجثة لسبب غامض أمام منزل عائلة «ستينفايك»، فيحرق الألمان المنزل ولا ينجو من العائلة إلا «أنطون»، ابن الاثني عشر عامًا.
بعد ذلك بسنوات، يصبح «أنطون» طبيبًا يعيش حياة هادئة ويتعمد النسيان، إلا أن مصادفات الحياة وأزماتها ستعطيه خيوطًا متفرقة تسمح له بإكمال صورة الحدث وإدراك عبثية الأقدار.
قصة تحبس الأنفاس، مشوقة مثل رواية بوليسية، ترسم ببراعة مذهلة التداخل الدقيق بين القدر والمصادفات، والقوة والضعف، والبراءة والذنب.
نالت رواية «الاعتداء» جائزة «ديبسيه برايز» في هولندا، وتحولت إلى فيلم سينمائي نال «أوسكار» أفضل فيلم أجنبي، وجائزة «جولدن جلوب» لأفضل فيلم بلغة أجنبية، وجائزة أفضل فيلم في «مهرجان سياتل الدولي للسينما» عام 1986.
عن المؤلف
«هاري موليش» (1927-2010) روائي وكاتب مسرحي وشاعر هولندي، يعتبر من أفضل كُتاب هولندا المعاصرين. حققت أعماله شهرة واسعة، وتُرجمت إلى عديد من اللغات، ونال جوائز أدبية مرموقة، منها خمس جوائز على مجموع أعماله، هي: جائزة «آثوس» عام 1961، جائزة «كونستانتاين هاوخنز» وجائزة «بي سي هوفت» عام 1977، «الجائزة الأدبية الهولندية» عام 1995، و«جائزة العصر الذهبي» عام 2009.
«الاعتداء» هو أول أعماله التي تُترجم إلى العربية.
