ومنذ ظهور تلك الحضارة في مرحلتها الأولى بدأ علماء الإسلام يقومون في تقبل الثقافة وتجديدها وتنميتها ونشرها، وإذا كان الدور الذي قاموا به في الماضي من هذه الناحية رائعاً، فإن دورهم في الحاضر والمستقبل يجب أن يكون أكثر روعة، وذلك بفضل توسط بلادهم بين القارات الكبرى وبفضل علاقاتهم بمختلف مواطن الحضارة.
ويعرض الكتاب لعدد من أولئك الذين زخر بهم تاريخ الإسلام بعدما قطعوا فيه شوطاً حفظه لهم التاريخ وأفادوا البشرية فخلدوا حسن السمعة وطيب الثمار.
