الاضطرابات النفسية، كما الاضطرابات الجسديّة، واقعٌ طال كل انسان لأي مكان وزمان انتمى؛ وانسان اليوم يبدو معرّضاً، أكثر بكثير من انسان أي زمان مضى، للوقوع فريسة سهلة فـي براثن مثل هذه الاضطرابات النفسية، بفعل إفرازات الحداثة وانعكاسها عليه تحت شكل أزمات متنوّعة تهدّد نفسه وتجعلها ريشة فـي مهب رياح القلق وانعدام الاستقرار النفسيين. لذا، يبدو العلاج النفسي، اليوم، أحد أكثر المطالب الحياتية الوجودية إلحاحاً لأن المرض النفسي، لا يقتصر على تدمير حياة المصاب به فحسب، بل يتعداه ليعيق حياة كلٍّ من الأسرة والمجتمع معاً. لكنّ المهمّة العلاجية ليست مسألة بسيطة يسهل تحقيقها، بل هي عمليّة شديدة التطلب: إن على المستوى المعرفـي أم، خصوصاً، على المستوى التدريبي-التطبيقي، وتستلزم العمل على إعداد أخصّائيين فـي هذا المجال ليصبح بالإمكان تقديم الخدمات النفسية اللازمة للجميع – خصوصاً فـي عالمنا العربي الذي يفتقر لوجود أعداد وافية منهم – وذلك على المستوى العلاجي إنما، خصوصاً، على المستوى الوقائي. والكتاب الحالي يعالج، بتعبير لغوي شاءته المؤلفة سلساً وبمتناول الجميع، أهم التقنيات العلاجيّة المعاصرة التي تتجه، اليوم، نحو التكامل والتدامج (واقعاً وتطبيقاً) ضمن إطار العلاج النفسي.
