النويري (677 - 733 هـ = 1278 - 1333 م)
أحمد بن عبد الوهاب بن محمد بن عبد الدائم القرشي التيمي البكري، شهاب الدين النويري: عالم بحاث غزير الاطلاع.
نسبته إلى نويرة (من قرى بني سويف بمصر) ومولده ومنشأه بقوص.
اتصل بالسلطان الملك الناصر ووكله السلطان في بعض أموره، وتقلب في الخدم الديوانية، وباشر نظر الجيش في طرابلس،
وتولى نظر الديوان بالدقهلية والمرتاحية. وكان ذكي الفطرة، حسن الشكل، فيه أريحية وود لأصحابه.
وله نظم يسير ونثر جيد.
ويكفيه أنه مصنف (نهاية الأرب في فنون الأدب - ط) كبير جدا وهو أشبه بدائرة معارف لما وصل إليه العلم عند العرب في عصره.
ويقول فازيليف: إن نهاية الأرب على الرغم من تأخر عصره يحوي أخبارا خطيرة عن صقلية نقلها عن مؤرخين قدماء لم تصل إلينا كتبهم مثل ابن الرقيق وابن رشيق وابن شداد وغيرهم.
توفي في القاهرة
