القفطي (568 - 646 هـ = 1172 - 1248 م)
علي بن يوسف بن إبراهيم الشيباني القفطي، أبو الحسن، جمال الدين: وزير، مؤرخ، من الكتاب.
ولد بقفط (من الصعيد الاعلى بمصر) وسكن حلب، فولي بها القضاء في أيام الملك الظاهر، ثم الوزارة في أيام الملك العزيز سنة 633 ه) وأطلق عليه لقب \" الوزير الاكرم \" وكان صدرا محتشما، جماعا للكتب، تساوي مكتبته خمسين ألف دينار، لا يحب من الدنيا سواها.
ولم يكن له دار ولا زوجة ، وتوفي بحلب.
من تصانيفه \" إخبار العلماء بأخبار الحكماء - ط \" مختصره، و \" إنباه الرواة على أنباه النحاة - ط \" ثلاثة مجلدات منه، و \" الدر الثمين في أخبار المتيمين \" و \" أخبار مصر \" ستة أجزاء، و \" تاريخ اليمن \" و \" بقية تاريخ السلجوقية \" و \" أخبار آل مرداس \" و \" أخبار المصنفين وما صنفوه \" و \" إصلاح خلل الصحاح \" للجوهري، و \" نهزة الخاطر \" في الادب، و \" كتاب المحمدين من الشعراء - خ \" رتبه على الآباء وبلغ به محمد بن سعيد
