أبو بكر الصولي (000 - 335 هـ = 000 - 946 م)
محمد بن يحيى بن عبد الله، أبو بكر الصولى، وقد يعرف بالشطرنجى: نديم، من أكابر علماء الأدب.
نادم ثلاثة من خلفاء بنى العباس، هم: الراضي والمكتفى والمقتدر.
وله تصانيف، منها (الأوراق - خ) في أخبار آل العباس وأشعارهم، طبع منه (أشعار أولاد الخلفاء) و (أخبار الراضي والمتقي) و (أخبار الشعراء المحدثين).
وله (أدب الكتاب - ط) و (أخبار القرامطة) و (الغرر) و (أخبار ابن هرمة) و (أخبار إبراهيم ابن المهدى - خ) و (أخبار الحلاج - خ) (شرح ديوان أبى تمام - خ) الجزء الثالث منه، و (وقعة الجمل - خ) رسالة صغيرة، و (أخبار أبى عمرو بن العلاء).
وكان من أحسن الناس لعبا بالشطرنج.
نسبته إلى جده (صول تكين) ، توفى في البصرة مستترا
