هذا الكتاب هو رد اعتبار لنبي من أنبياء بني إسرائيل ألا وهو : يحي بن زكريا عليهما السلام، والذي يعترف يه اليهود كنبي من أنبيائهم، وافترى عليه النصارى في قصة مقتله وكما ادعى الصابئة المندانية أنه آخر أنبيائهم، فكل هذه الملل والنحل قد انتقصوا من هذا النبي الكريم عليه السلام فظلموه حيا وميتا وقد أنصفه الإسلام وأنزله منزلته التي يستحقها، ونحن أردنا أن نميط اللثام عن قصته الحقيقية التي أوردها القرآن الكريم وأثنى عليه نبينا العظيم صلوات الله وسلامه عليه وقد أثبتنا ذلك بين ثنايا الكتاب وأزلنا عن قصته ركام الكذب والتلفيق التي لحقت به، وأظهرنا وأوضحنا الحقيقة الناصعة في قصته ثم ألحقنا بآخر الكتاب أهم الدروس والعبر المستفادة من قصته ليعتبر بها أهل الاسلام.
