ويصب الكاتب جل اهتمامه حول تقديم نظرية للتطبيقات الدرامية العملية ، وهي نظرية اجتماعية للغة تعتمد علي الصراع أكثر من اعتمادها على التعاون التقليدي المعتاد ،وتستند كذلك على الاستخدامات السياسية والمؤسسة للنص الدرامي الذي تنطوي عليه .
