كُتِبَتْ هذه الرواية في الفترة 2014-2017، وكُتِبَتْ بعض هوامشها في نوفمبر 2019

التي عليها البَيْضُ والتي عليها الرَّطُّ والتي عليها الكتابة. التي عليها البيضُ دجاجةٌ ستبيضُ، موعدُ بيضها بعد دقائق أو ساعات، لا تحتمل الانتظار، وتظل تتحرك هنا وهناك كأن انتظار البيضة أرقٌ وكتابة. التي عليها الرط، تم تقسيم الأيام بين الزوجات بحيث تثرثر كلُّ واحدة منهن يومًا، وفي اليوم الذي لا تثرثر أو ترطُّ فيه تظلُّ طوال اليوم تقول:
- بُكرةً عليَّ الرطُّ.
ما علاقة كلّ ذلك بي؟ لأيام من المفترض أن أفرغ من بحثٍ أو كتابٍ ولا أستطيع، أرقٌ، ترقُّبٌ، صداعٌ، كأنه الوَحم، في انتظار… أولا، لا شيء، يبدو هكذا، لكنني أدرك أن هذه الأعراض وهذا التهرُّب وهذا الإحساس بالكسل كلهم مقدمات لشيء قد يكون عظيما، أو على الأقل جديدًا بالنسبة لي.
مِن أين أبدأ؟ أو من أين أنتهي؟ هل البداية في ملف التسجيل على الهاتف؟ أم أن البداية تسبق إمساكَ الهاتف بساعات أو أيام أو شهور أو ربما سنوات؟ أفكارٌ تترافد، تتزاحم، في نهرٍ لا يظهرُ، نهرٌ خلفَ أفقِ النظر، أو تحتَ مجال الإحساس، تصبُّ كلها فيه وتختمر، دون أن يشعر بها هاتفٌ أو قلمٌ أو لسان، وها أنا الآن كسول إلى حد الاستسلام، وكأنني إن متُّ الآن سأموت سعيدًا، سأكون مبتهجا بمن يحملونني إلى قبري، إلى سكني الذي لا نهوض منه لسنوات…
