في ذاكرة كل منا، فيلم سينمائيٌّ واحد على الأقل لدراكولا مصاص الدماء وبحثه الليلي الدائم عن فريسة. ولكن، هل كنا لنتفاجأ لو علمنا بأنّ لهذه الشخصية أصلًا واقعيًا اعتمد عليها الكاتب الإيرلندي "برام ستوكر" في روايته الشهيرة "دراكولا"؟
في زمن تصارعت فيه الإمبراطوريات، وتوسعت الممالك، عاش فلاد الثالث أو فلاد "المُخوْزِق" –تيبس بالرومانية- أمير مقاطعة والاشيا (والتي عرفت باسم الأفلاق في العهد العثماني) والواقعة في رومانيا. لم يكتسب فلاد هذا لقبه من فراغ، بل لأنّ هوايته المفضلة كانت هي "الخوزقة" أو "الخزق" لأعدائه والمارقين عليه وكلّ من يعتقد باستحقاقه العقاب بهذه الوسيلة الوحشية حتى وإن لم يأتِ ذنبًا يُذكر. وكانت عقوبة الخازوق من العقوبات التي تستخدم للإعدام بالتعذيب البطيء، حيث يُدّق وتد خشبي مشحّم في دُبْر المُعاقب سييء الحظ ليخرج من كتفه أحيانًا، ومن ثم يغرس الوتد بطريقة عمودية في الأرض، ويترك المخوزق لمصيره ليموت فورًا أو بعد عدة ساعات بحسب مهارة الجلّاد.
