وقد انتهج المؤلف في رسم شخصيات الشعراء منهجين في الكتابة ، النفسي والفني، بما أتاح له الحديث عن لمحات ذاتية في حياة كل منهم بجانب إضاءة مواضع متفرقة في إبداعاتهم الشعرية.
