يؤتًى المرءُ حُلمَه ذات مشية ، ذات مصادفة ، كبهجةِ أعمى أبصَر النوًر ، كسريانِ الُروح في غصن بَلى ، عندما كانت أمَك تخبرني عن حلمها ، أضحك ، قلتُ : مهوسة هي بالخيال ، حَكت أنً السَماء تهبط لها تغطيًها من برد الوادي كلً ليلةِِ إنما ، في هذه الليلة بالذًات ، شيء لي أن أشهد بعينيَ معجزة الحلم الحاضرة تتجسَد ، مثل إحياء تمثالِِ من غبار كان قدره الفناء . هبطت السَماء بالفعل ، بينما كانت امَك تتجمد من البرد ، و تحولت السَماء إلى لحاف ، انسدل فوق جسد أمَك ، و غطًاه إلا قليلا من الوجه ، غير أنًَ أمَك شدت عليها لحاف السماء و اختفت كلها داخل الغطاء . آخر الليل ، بعدما نامت ، رفعت الغطاء السَماوي لأطمئن عليها ، لم أجدها ، كان الفراش شاغرََا . ظنتني أهذي ، و في لحظة راح يتبخر الغطاء ، يتكثف إلى سحب تصعد مجزأة لأعلى ، في بطءِِ.
