وقد شجعه الطريقة التي اتبعها في تدريس هذا الفن على القيام بالعمل ، حيث كان يبدأ في الموضوع بشرح النقط الفنية وصفاً ورسما واستعمالاً ، ويتلو ذلك شرح عملي من معلم المصنع (الورشة) على نفس المادة مع إجراء الأعمال الصناعية تطبيقاً عليها وبذلك كانت تحصل التلاميذ على معلومات مفيدة ربت عندهم ملكة تطبيق العلم على العمل .
