أخيرًا تحدث حازم إلى نهى، عاتبها أنه أرسل لها العديد من الرسائل التي لا ترد عليها رغم أنها قرأتها بالفعل، مما اضطره إلى الاتصال مباشرة بها ليستعلم عما يجري، فقد تكرر هذا الأسلوب من نهى مرات عديدة، تكاد تكون عادة لديها مؤخرًا، كما أن كلامها الرقيق معه أصبح قليلًا، أو يكاد يختفي، اهتمامها به أصبح روتينيًا لا يزيد على عدة كلمات حفظها حازم عن ظهر قلب، تحاول نهى تفسير ذلك بانشغالها في مشروعها الجديد، خاصة أنه يقترب من حيز التنفيذ، لم يقتنع حازم بكلامها، حدد موعدًا لمقابلتها بعد العمل ليتحدث معها بكل صراحة، أو أن يفقدا أي أمل في علاقتهما، الغير واضحة على الأقل في نظر نهى.
رغم الإعجاب المتبادل بين حازم ونهى، إلا أن حازم ما زال غير متأكد من شعورها، فأحيانًا تهتم به وأحيانًا تنشغل عنه لدرجة التجاهل، أحيانًا ترغب إلى درجة الإلحاح أن تراه وتتحدث معه، وأحيانًا تتهرب منه، كل هذه الرسائل المتضاربة تحتاج إلى وضوح من نهى،
