اليوم الأول من السنة الجديدة، يومٌ كانونيٌّ غزير المطر، إنها بدايةٌ خيّرة كما يعتقد القائلون بالتفاؤل بالمطر الذي يفتتح المطالع السنوية. أغلق العام الماضي أبوابه، بقي خلف أبوابه المغلقة أشخاصٌ لم يُتح لهم العبور معي إلى عامي الجديد،عبرت ذكرياتهم فقط، أسماؤهم التي تأبى أن يتخطاها الزمن، أنهيت عامي السابق بخسارةٍ لا أتمنى حدوثها مجدداً، لا أعرف كيف يعيد العام الجديد ترتيب أيامه، ويبدو أنه أيضاً يعيد ترتيب ورود الأشخاص في حياتنا، لماذا يكون هذا اليوم من العام مفصليّاً في انتقاء الأحداث والأشخاص؟ومن ثم تسير الأيام سيراً تلقائياً وفق الاصطفاءات الجديدة، هل يمكن القبول بما ذهب إليه داروين في قانون الانتخاب والاصطفاء الطبيعي كونياً، وإسقاطه على الحالة البشرية، بناءً عليه، تنظّف العلاقات الإنسانية نفسها تلقائياً؛ ومن ثمّ: (كلّما ضاق الكون صار أكثر رحابةً)..
