أجمع الفلاسفة والحكماء على أنّ الفلسفة هي الرّغبةُ المستمرّةُ في البحث والسِّعي الدؤوب نحو المعرفةِ، وهي الطريقُ الصّحيحُ الّذي يؤدّي إلى جوهر الحقيقة، لأنّ الفلسفة، هي الحكمة التي تكسبُ المعرفة، وقد توصَّلت إلى رؤية للوجود، مفادها أن لا قدرة للعقل على فهم أسرار العالم.
هذه الأفكار مستحضرة من كتاب "جوامع الكلم" للدكتور جُوستاف لوبُون، وهو خلاصة ما تناوله من الحقائق في مؤلّفاته الكثيرة، في ميدان علم النفس الإجتماعي، حيث قطف من حدائقه المليئة بالصوُّر والمشاهد الحياتيّة أجمل باقاتٍ من آرائه وحكمه وخطراته في الحياة، ليُسِّهل على المثقّف العالمي عمليّة التواصل مع التراث الإنساني.
فحكمة لوبون المبثوثة في مؤلفاته المنشورة، تتمثّلُ الحقائقَ على أنها حقيقةٌ مطلقة ولكنها مختلفة بإختلاف الأمزجة التي تتلقاها، من هنا، كانت موضعَ إهتمامِ العلماء والأدباءِ وأهل الحكمةِ والبيان الّذين وجدوا فيها روح العلم والدِّين والفنّ والسياسة ممزوجةً بسلامة الذّوق والخُلق وحدّة الذّكاء.
