يهدف كتاب "التدريب على تقويم الصورة في الأفلام" إلى معالجة مسألة تربويّة مهمّة وهي تفاعل تلاميذ الحلقة الثّانية من المرحلة الأساسيّة (الصّف الخامس) مع الصّورة في وسائط الإعلام المرئيّة، وتأثير هذا التفاعل على التفكير النّاقد. وتكمن فائدة الدّراسة وخصوصيّتها في أنّها دراسة جديدة علميّة تطبيقيّة لظاهرة لم يألفها المجتمع اللبناني من قبل، وهي تقويم التلاميذ للصورة في الوسائط الإعلاميّة المرئيّة وذلك من أجل العمل على تنمية التّفكير الناقد لديهم.
ويعالج هذا الكتاب علاقة التفكير النّاقد والمعايير التي يعتمد عليها بتقنيات التّصوير السينمائي ومعايير الجودة فيه، فضلاً عن نسبة الصّدقيّة في هذه الصور المتحرّكة. كما يتناول الحديث عن وسائل الإعلام ونظريّة الاعتماد عليها، ونظريّة الغرس الثّقافي، ونظريّة تمثيل المعلومات وهي نظريات لها أثر قوي على المشاهد وبخاصة الطفل
