«في ظلال الحقيقة» روايةٌ أدبية للكاتب اللبناني نجيب أشعيا، تتحدّث عن البحث عن الحقيقة، وما يجب أن تكون عليه غاية كل عاقل ومفكر، حتى يصل إلى الحقيقة أو إلى ما يدانيها.
يحاول «أشعيا» أن يثبت في روايته هذه أن السعادة الحقيقية والراحة التامة تكمن في امتلاك الحقائق التي تؤثّر في مجريات حياتنا، أو تلك التي تقوم عليها، وهي الأشدّ وقعًا وأهميّةً لدينا، لذا علينا دائمًا أن نسعى وراء الحقيقة ما أمكن.
تدور أحداث الرواية حول شابٍّ يجوس الأرضَ بحثًا عن حقائق لم ينضج هيكلها في مخيّلته، أو أنه لم يقتنع بما وصله من معرفة مُكتسبةٍ من البيئة الاجتماعيّة التي يعيش في ظلّها، فهامَ على وجهه يبحث، يستمدّ حكمته من الطبيعة، يلتقي بأشخاص جدد ويكوّن معارفه التي تشفي غليل البحث لديه.
يلتقي هذا الشاب برجل عجوز امتلك من الحكمة وسداد الرأي ما مكّنه من خوض غمار المعرفة والاكتشاف، أو ربما العكس أصح، فهو اكتسبها من البحث عن الحقيقة، وهكذا ائتلف الاثنان على هدف واحد.
