توفيق حبيب: صحفي ومترجم مصري.
ولد «توفيق حبيب مليكة» في عام ١٨٨٠م في أسرة قبطية وتلقى تعليمًا تقليديًّا كأغلب أقرانه آنذاك.
استهوته الصحافة فعمل مخبرًا صحفيًا في البداية يجمع الأخبار ويسجلها، ثم بدء في كتابة سلسلة مقالات ﺑ «جريدة الأهرام» تحت عنوان «على الهامش» كان يوقعها باسم «الصحافي العجوز»، وقد تميز بأسلوب خاص يجمع بين السخرية والحكمة في أسلوب وعبارات بسيطة.
يعتبرحبيب من أوائل الأقباط المصريين الذين اشتغلوا بالصحافة، وقد ألف العديد من الكتب التي تهتم بأدب الرحلات وتصف أسفاره نذكر منها «شهران في أروبا» و«رحلة إكسبرس من إسكندرية وإستامبول» و«تذكار المؤتمر القبطي» وغيرها.
توفي توفيق حبيب في عام ١٩٤١م عن ستين عامًا قضى أربعين عامًا منها في بلاط صاحبة الجلالة (الصحافة).
Book Description
«رحلة إكسبرس من إسكندرية وإستامبول مع المستر أتول» كتابٌ تناول مجموعةَ أحداثٍ ومشاهداتٍ مرّ بها المؤلّف من رحلته التي ابتدأها من الإسكندريّة في مصر قاصدًا إستنبول، رصد فيه الصّحفي والكاتب المصري «توفيق حبيب» حيثيّات السّفر ومفاجآته، وحاله مع رفقاء السّفر في تلك الرّحلة.
رحلةٌ إلى استنبول كانت ستكلّفه الكثير، فلم يخطر له من قبل أن يُمنح هذه الفرصةَ لولا أن سمع عن إعلانٍ قدّمته «جمعيّة الشبّان المسيحيين» في مصر، أوضحت به نيّتها للرّحلة مع نفقاتٍ منخفضة لأعضائها، فالتحق حبيب بالجمعيّة ناشدًا هذه الرّحلة التي كان لها أثرٌ كبير في نفسه، وأثرٌ خاصٌ على كتابته في هذا المجال.
قضى عدّة أيام في تركيّا، بلاد الأناضول، ورصد حالتها بعد زوال الخلافة، وراح يسرد الأحداث على عجلِ المتلهّف لشقّ سطوره بأحداث جديدة من الحياة، تعمّق في تفاصيل الرّحلة، وردّ أفعال الزّملاء نحو كل ما يطرأ عليهم، بالأخصّ بعدما تعرّضوا إلى دوار البحر، كما وصفَ المتاحفَ في إستانبول والأحياء والمزارات والمقاهي والمطاعم.
