محمد كامل حجاج: كاتبٌ مصري، عمل بالمحاكم المختلطة شطرًا كبيرًا من حياته. تمتَّعَ بذوق رفيع؛ حيث كان له هوًى برعاية الأزهار النادرة، والموسيقى الشرقية. أجاد اللغة الفرنسية، وله عددٌ من الكتب منها: «الموسيقى الشرقية ماضيها وحاضرها ونموها في المستقبل»، و«بلاغة العرب»، و«نباتات الزينة العشبية»، و«خواطر الخيال وإملاء الوجدان». تُوفِّي عامَ ١٩٤٣م.
Book Description
قام الكاتب محمد كامل حجاج بجمع مختارات من الأعمال الأدبيّة لكُتّابٍ فرنسيّين في كتابه «بلاغة الغرب»، ووقع اختياره على أحسن المحاسن من أعمالهم النثريّة والشعريّة، كما يسجّل رأيه في إنجازاتهم الأدبيّةِ قائلًا:
"يقع شعرهم ونثرهم على الآذان كنغمات الموسيقى بما يشجي السامع من: رقة الوصف، وسلاسة التركيب، وأوانس الألفاظ، وغرر البيان، وبُعد الكلام عما تعقّد من المعاني، وخلوه من الخياليات المتشعبة والتنقل فيها بما يذهب بالسامع كل مذهب، فيركب متن الشطط، ويصعب عليه الفهم؛ فلذلك يعقله الفكر لأول وهلة دون إمعان وإجهاد قريحة"
قدّم نبذةً عن حياة كل واحد من هؤلاء الأدباء، ثمّ تطرّق إلى منجزهم الأدبي، عارضًا الظروف التي نشأ بها الكاتب، وعلاقتها بنموّ المَلَكةِ لديه، ثمّ أوردَ نماذجًا من أعمالهم الأدبيّة، بأسلوب أدبي عربي سلس، محافظًا على المعنى، ومن هؤلاء الأدباء: «فرنسوا كوبيه»، «إيدمون روستان»، «ألفونس دوديه»، «تييوفيل جوتييه»، «بييري كورنيي»، «جان راسين»، «فيكتور هوجو»، و«ألفونس دو لا مارتين»، و«ألفريد دو موسيه»، و«أندريه شينييه»، و«ألفريد دوفيني».
