أحمد عيسى: طبيب وأديب ومؤرخ مصري، وُلِدَ بمدينة رشيد في محافظة البحيرة عام ١٨٧٦م، وأتم تعليمه الأساسي بها، ثم انتقل إلى المدرسة الخديوية، والتحق بعدها بمدرسة الطب بالقاهرة.
تخصَّص عيسى في أمراض النساء، كما عمِل بالطب الباطني في العديد من المستشفيات، إلا أنه لم يستمر في مزاولة المهنة، واتَّجه إلى التأليف والترجمة، وكان يحرص على حضور الدروس في تخصُّصات معرِفية أخرى بالجامعة المصرية (جامعة القاهرة).
وقد أجاد أحمد عيسى بعض اللغات السامية، واليونانية، واللاتينية.
كان عضوًا في العديد من الجمعيات والمجالس كجمعية الهلال الأحمر، ومجلس المجمع العلمي بدمشق، والمجلس الأعلى لدار الكتب المصرية، والأكاديمية الدولية لتاريخ العلوم بباريس، وقد انتقل عيسى إلى رحاب الله عام ١٩٤٦م.

يسلط كتاب "ألعاب الصبيان عن العرب"، لكاتبه أحمد عيسى، على الألعاب التي كان يمارسها أطفال العرب الصغار، إذ أن ألعاب الصبا والطفولة تشكل دعامةً مهمةً في بناء شخصية الطفل المجتمعية والفردية، والتي تؤثر على شخصيته عندما يكبر، كما تُشكل الألعاب أحد المعالم التراثية والحضارية المهمة، التي تعكس الكثير من ثقافة الأمة وأمزجَتها، ويعرض الدكتور أحمد عيسى في كتابه هذا خمساً وستين لعبةً من ألعاب الصبيان العرب التي كانوا يقضون وقتهم في ممارستها، وقد جمع المؤلف هذه الألعاب والمعلومات الخاصة فيها من كتب المحدثين واللغويين، والجدير بالذكر أن الكتاب يضم العديد من الألعاب ذات الأسماء الغريبة التي لم يعد يسمع باسمها أحد، إلا أن البعض من أسماء الألعاب بقيت حاضرةً إلى اليوم، ومن هذه الألعاب "جُبَّى جُعَل"؛ وهي لعبة الشقلبة التي تكون بوضع الرأس على الأرض، ومن ثم انقلاب الجسم على الأرض، وأيضاً لعبة "الدُّوَّامَة" التي تُعرف الآن بالنحلة، ولعبة "الأُنْبُوثَة" وغيرها الكثير..
