كتاب التحفة السنية في تاريخ القسطنطينية هو كتابُ منوعاتٍ تاريخية تبدأ بسرد تاريخي موجز عن مدينة القسطنطينية منذ العصور القديمة وحتى عصر المؤلف.
يتضمن الكتاب أوصافاً لأماكن جديرة بالملاحظة، مثل المباني والحدائق والمدافن والبازارات والأحياء السكنية الفخمة.
ويمكن اعتبار هذا الجزء من العمل كتاباً إرشادياً للزوار العرب، فالمؤلف يُعبِّر عن إعجابه بالمدينة ويمدح السلطان بطريقة يبدو أنها تهدف إلى ربط القارئ العربي بالسلطة الإمبراطورية العثمانية. يَتْبع الكتاب التقاليد الأدبية عن طريق الإشارة إلى المدينة باسمها التاريخي، أي القسطنطينية (أعاد أتاتورك تسمية المدينة رسمياً لتصبح إسطنبول عام 1930).
ويَعقِب القسمَ الأول من هذا الكتاب موضوعٌ عن نَسَب السلاسة العثمانية بدايةً من عصر آدم، أما القسم الثالث، وهو الأطول في الكتاب، فهو سجل للإنجازات البشرية في المجال الحكومي والصناعي والفني حتى القرن التاسع عشر. رُتِّب هذا القسم أبجدياً وهو يستهدف عامة القراء. وقد أُهدِي الكتاب إلى السلطان عبد العزيز.
ويأتي هذا الكتاب كأحد الدروع المُدافعة عن هذه الدولة العثمانية، فيبين أصلها، وسلالتها، وأبناءها حتى عهد السلطان "عثمان الغازي" .
