يؤكد حازم عزت سعد في روايته القصيرة «ظل طائر خفيف» أنّه يملك ناصية الحديث بذلك الصوت القوي، المُعبر من خلاله عن خلجات النفس الداخلية، وما تموج به من مشاعر وتطاحنات عديدة دون الدخول والمساس بأية أيدولوجية سياسية أو دينية. يُعبر عن الاضطرابات التي تدفعنا إلى الوقوف أمام أنفسنا لنستفسر عن معيار الصواب والخطأ المُحيط بنا في حيواتنا. عمّا هو صالح وحميد يُمكن السير وراءه. وعمّا هو مذموم وطالح فينفر منه الفرد. وهل في الأصل هناك صالحية لتطبيق مبدأ الصواب والخطأ؟ أم أنّه لا حتمية للحكم ورسوخ المبدأ؛ نظرًا لأنّه مركب أساسي قد أخرجه العقل الجمعي واستخدم استبداده وشحذ سطوته ليفرضه على العقل الفردي وطبقات المجتمع الدُنيا مِنْها والعُليا، يقول: «الواقع أن ما نطلق عليه خطأ أو صوابًا، إنّما هو يُوجهنا لفعل ذلك حكم المجتمع».
وهذه المركبات، والشبكة العنكبوتية تلك هي التي أوقع فيها حازم بطلة قصته. بصورة عامة تتحدث الرواية عن امرأة تذهب لطبيب نفسي للحديث له عن تحرش زوج صديقتها بها و اهمال زوجها المسافر دائما و تضييق امها عليها .. و كيف ان المتحرش بها اقنع صديقتها ( زوجته ) بالاتبعاد عنها .
تطارد المرأة الدكتور للتعرف صدفةٌ على زوجة الدكتور المثلية الجنس لتغرق معها في علاقة جنسية لتصبح اقرب صديقة لها .
يعود زوجها من السفر و يدخل في علاقة مع زوجة الطبيب التي تعرف عليها عن طريق الفيس بوك .. ليخوض معها علاقة جنسية تنتهي بموت زوجها ( الطبيب النفسي المثلي الجنس ) الذي وجده مع زوجته في سريره .
بعدها تدخل في علاقة مع زميل لها في الدراسة تطلعه على جميع اسرارها .
* الرواية جميلة و عميقة و سهلة لها جانب فلسفي اجتماعي مميز
