بما ان وظيفة الصحافة نقل ما يجري في الواقع حتى وصفت انها مرآة للبيئة التي تصدر فيها ، فأن جل بضاعتها سريعة التلف وبخاصة الأخبار التي تعد أكثر السلع تلفا ، ولا تبتعد الأعمدة الصحفية كثيرا عن ذلك ، فمنها ما يتناول جوانب من تلك الحياة بمختلف شؤونها ، وبالتالي تنتهي صلاحيتها بإنتهاء ذلك الحدث ، ما يعني ان حدود تأثيراتها وفاعليتها مرهون بما هو آني ، ولا يمتد ذلك الى المستقبل باستثناء الوظيفة التاريخية ، بوصف الصحافة سجلا توثق فيه الوقائع والأحداث والأفكار ، الأمر الذي يجعل منها وثيقة تاريخية لمرحلة زمنية معينة ، لكني بالعموم لست من المتحمسين للكتابة بما هو يومي مستهلك ، فغالبا ما أتهرب منه ، سواء في الاحجام عن الكتابة او التحايل والالتفاف على تلك الوقائع وتوظيفها لما هو مستديم ، بخاصة تلك الامور التي تعد انعكاسا للظواهر او مظاهرها ، بل كنت أسعى الى التقصي والكشف عن بنية الظواهر.
