لم يكن الخروج من الفوضى التي عمت المكان بالأمر السهل، فبعد جهود في الدفع إلى الأمام والتراجع إلى الخلف استطاع أن يجذبني بقوة في مشهد لا يتكرر، عندما تجاوزنا بحر البشر المتلاطم ربت على كتفي وقال "أنت بخير الآن يا آنسة" و اختفى فجأة كما ظهر فجأة حلم توارى وراء الحجب. رأيته يركب سيارة جيب وينطلق كالسهم العاصف، لست أدري كيف أطلقت رجلي للريح وأنا أردد الأدعية التي أحفظها ولا أدري كيف عثرت على سيارتي ضغطت رجلي على دواسة البنزين وانطلقت دون وعي وبلا اتجاه فقط أريد أن أهرب من المكان. أوقفتني سيارة "القيادة الثورية" لم أستطع التحدث إلى الحارس الذي كان يسألني عن اسمي، كنت في حالة غثيان مفاجئ ودوار حاد بالكاد تمكنت من فتح زجاج السيارة لأتمكن من الاستفراغ، قابلني وجه كأنه طيف حدق في ملامحي طويلا وقال : "هاتي بطاقتك" أعطيته إياها ورأسي خارج النافذة أقاوم نوبات القيء والدوار حادا يعصف برأسي قال الرجل للحارس: "افتح لها البوابة دعها تخرج لا تسمح لأحد غيرها بالخروج".
