بابل تلك المدينة الرائعة التي حكمت العالم على مرور آلاف السنوات. أرض الزحام، أرض الحضارات الأولى، وملتقى الحضارات، وأرض البعث القديم. كانت بابل صاخبة في هدوء، فكان داخلها لا يخرج منها أبدًا، فقط تعيش الفجور والإيمان بين أسوارها. لم يكن من يعيش في بابل من أصلها الأقدمين، يُحكى أن بابل كانت تتكون من سبع عائلات، وكانت العائلات السبع في صراع دائم مع بعضهم البعض، واستمر التقاتل بينهم ما يزيد عن ألف عام، قُتل فيه الكثير والكثير من العزل والمحاربين، حتى أن ما تبقى الآن في بابل مع كل عائلة بضع مئات. يمكنك جمع بابل كلها في غرفة واحدة من غرف قصورها التي تطوف حولها الأسوار من كل مكان. كانت بابل أرضًا ملعونة شهدت الكثير من سفك الدماء، حتى أصبح لون تربتها أحمر، احمرار الدم، لا يعرف إذا كان لون طينة بابل على هذا من البداية، أم بسبب كثرة الدم المسيل على أرضها. كان بالقرب من بابل، في أقرب الجبال، يسكن رجل كبير، طاعن في السن. يقال إن هذا الرجل عايشَ البابليين الأولين، ويقال إنه الأب بابل، ومن ذريته العائلات السبع.
والسبب في صعوده الجبل، أنه عندما اشتد الصراع بين أبنائه وأحفاده ترك بابل المدينة، وصعد إلى الجبل ومعه خمسة من أحفاده الصغار جدًّا حينها. كان بابل كل فترة من الزمان عندما يطغى الظلم والقتل والفساد، يرسل حفيدًا يعلمه العلوم من كل شيء ويعلمه الصواب من الخطأ، والحق من الضلال، لعله يلم شمل بني بابل بعد أن فرَّقتهم بحور من الدماء. ولكن كل من أرسل لاقاه أهل بابل بالتكذيب والسخرية، ويقال إنه أتى إلى بابل ليضل أهلها ويسعى إلى دمارها بتلك الخرافات من التوبة والرجوع. بابل أرض العلوم والفلك والطب والهندسة، فمن بابل خرج العلم، إلا أنه لم يعد إليها ثانية، بين أسوار بابل القديمة كانت الحروب والمصالحات، كانت بابل دويلات، ثم إمارات ودولًا، إلى أن أصبحت إمبراطورية بابل. كان أهل بابل منهم العاقلون والصالحون، ولكن أكثرهم للحق كارهين.
