يلجأ الكاتب إلى وضع ظاهرة التطرُّف والإرهاب تحت مجهر التحليل؛ إذ يعدُّ التنظيماتالإرهابيّة الجديدة المُتمثلة بداعش وأخواتها تنظيمات ليست وليدة لحظة استثنائيّة في المنطقة، بل هي نتاج شبه طبيعيّ لتراكُمات عاشتها المنطقة بين الاستبداد، والفقر، والتطرُّف، أدَّت إلى صناعة البيئة المُناسِبة للإرهاب. يعود الكاتب إلى جذور نشأة السلفيّة مُستنِداً إلى أفكار شخصيّات تاريخيّة في شرحه ظاهرة داعش، ونموِّها في زوايا العالم العربيِّ المُظلِمة، وساحاته الخلفيّة؛ويشير إلى أنَّ تنظيم القاعدة وأخواتها مثل داعش وغيرها لا يُمكِن مُواجَهتها بالصورايخ والرصاص من دون أن تُواجَه بالأفكار، والعقائد، والحرب الناعمة، حتى لو كان الجزء الأبرز من داعش هو كونه عدوّاً عسكريّاً يُجيد استعمال القنص، والتفجير، والتفخيخ، ولكن تبقى للمُواجَهة الثقافيّة معه مساحة أكبر كما يبحث الكتاب في وجود العلاقة بين نظام صدّام حسين وبن لادن، ويُطلِق الكاتب تصوُّرات عن المُستقبَل القريب، إذ ستتعرَّض تلك التنظيمات للمزيد من الانشقاقات بخاصّةٍ عند تعرُّض مصادر التمويل للسيطرة من تنظيم آخر، وسيتحوَّل العصر المُقبل إلى (عصر اقتتال الجماعات المُسلـَّحة) ويُفرِّق الكاتب بين القاعدة ما قبل داعش، والقاعدة بعد داعش، بخاصّة استثمار الحواضن، وظروف المنطقة الإقليميّة، ودخول العامل السياسيِّ والعقائديِّ بشكل لم يكن يُتصوَّر من ذي قبل كما يكشف الكاتب موضوعات مُهمّة، وينشر صُوَراً، ومعلومات غير مُتداوَلة لأهمِّ شخصيّات داعش وجبهة النصرة (الحرب العالميّة الثالثة) كتاب مُمنهَج يتبع تسلسلاً منطقيّاً يكتسب أهمّيّته من كونه يتناول بالتحليل موضوع الحرب الجديدة حديث الساعة.
