في روايتها «تاوسرت» تستحضر الكاتبة السعودية سمية مؤذنة واحدة من قصص التراث السردي لمصر في تاريخها الفرعوني، وتفعل ذلك في سياق درامي تعيد من خلاله إلى مسرح الأدب ملامح من قصة الملكة "تاوسرت" والموضوع المنتقى هنا هو الصراع على الحكم بوصفه مداراً للتفاعل بين ثنائيات تمثل التباين بين الخير والشر، والسيد والعبد، والحب والكراهية، والذكورة والأنوثة، والأهم تقديم الرواية أمثولة رمزية عن الحب في طبيعته التجريدية والحسية في آن. هي قصة «تاوسرت» ملكة التلال، وأميرة أرض الخلود والحياة، ابنة الملكة المقتولة بسبب الحب، الملكة التي عشقت صانع التماثيل دون قيد وبكل حرية حتى أصابت العاشق بلعنة حبها، وحوكما بتهمة الخيانة، أما الابنة "تاوسرت" فقد كانت أميرةٌ بهندام ملكٍ قادم للحكم، والتي كان يُنتظر أن تصبح بعد والدها "خادم الإله" ملكة البلاد، وها هي تعيش بكامل أنوثتها في سردابها المزين كمدينةٍ خاصة لا يدخل إليه سواها، ولكن طمع أبناء عمها في السلطة جعلها تهرب في التلال تائهة ومحاربة وعاملة، تكتب رسائلها وترمي نسخاً منها للريح مختومة باسم آرجون، حتى وجدها آرجون وليكون لها مع الحب موعداً... ولكن هل ستصيب الابنة "تاوسرت" لعنة العشق كما أصابت أمها الملكة؟ ما يميز هذه الرواية الحضور الشعري كمقاطع وكمحكيات كان الغرض منه إقامة روابط سردية وحكائية داخل النص الروائي بين جنسين أدبيين (الروائي، والشعري)؛ فالروائية استضافت الشعري، وسخرته لتحقيق مقاصدها الروائية؛ وهذا التلاحم والتآلف بين جنسين أدبيين أضاف ميزة جديدة إلى الرواية العربية الحديثة، وخاصة أن الروائية أضافت في نهاية الرواية (مقتطفات شعرية) برزت من خلالها كشاعرة ذات ذائقة أدبية عالية المستوى، ومبدعة تملك ناصية اللغة، إضافة إلى نواصي فنية أخرى.
