يحاول هذا الكتاب أن يطرح قضية الرؤية الإسلامية للاقتصادوالتنمية من خلال النظرة إليهما فى إطار الإسلام ككل لا يتجزأ، ولذا فقد وضع الإسلام المبادئ أو الركائز الأساسية والقواعد الشاملة للحياة الاقتصادية السليمة، وترك التطبيقات لتطور الزمان وبروز الحاجات، وهو بهذا الشمول، وهذه المرونة قد كفل لأحكامه التطبيقية النمو والتجديد ومسايرة ظروف ومتغيرات الحياة العصرية، وعلى هذا فقد أتى الإسلام فى مجال الاقتصاد الإسلامى بإطار شامل يجمع بين المصلحة الذاتية والمصلحة العامة، وبين دعائم التنمية الاقتصادية والتنمية الاجتماعية المستدامة من خلال تعاليمه، وحوافزه، وقواعده فى العمل والإنتاج والملكية، وتوزيع الثروة، وبالتالى فإن نموذج الاقتصاد الرأسمالى الغربى الذى تعتبره كافة المجتمعات الإنسانية هو النموذج الأمثل هو فى الواقع نموذج يعانى من الانفصال بين الجانب المادى والمعنوى، فهو إن حقق نجاحات كبرى فى الجوانب المادية- العلمية والتكنولوجية والاقتصادية- فإنه حقق فى الوقت ذاته أقصى درجات الفشل على مستوى الإنسان وسعادته، فهناك التفكك الأسرى، والاجتماعى والاغتراب واختلال المعايير وإعلاء الغريزة الحسية العمياء، وإطلاق العنان للغرائز الجنسية، وفقدان الذات، وارتفاع معدلات الجريمة لأن المنهج الاقتصادى فى التنمية لديهم يعتمد على التركيز على العلم المادى دون التفاعل بين القيم الإيمانية والروحية والسنن الكونية والإبداع البشرى، وفى ضوء حقيقة المنهج الاقتصادى الإسلامى الذى يربط الأبعاد الإيمانية بالأبعاد المادية فى الحياة الاجتماعية والاقتصادية يأتى العمل الراهن ليضم مجموعة من الدراسات التى حاولت أن تقرأ ملامح الاقتصاد والتنمية من المنظور الإسلامى.
