رواية “آخر الرعية”، للكاتب التونسي أبوبكر العيادي، يقسمها إلى ثلاثة أقسام؛
الأول بعنوان “الباش كاتب”، صدره بقول لابن خلدون “اعلم أن السيف والقلم، كلاهما آلة لصاحب الدولة يستعين بهما على أمره”.
الباب الثان بعنوان “الكبير الأعظم”، وصدره بقول مأثور لابن المقفع ”إن الوحيد في نفسه والمنفرد برأيه حيثما كان، هو ضائع ولا ناصر له”.
أما الباب الثالث “آخر الرعية” فصدره بقول للكاتب الروسي ميخائيل “لا تظنن أن ذلك النهر تحت الجسر نائم”، ولعله بذلك يذكرنا بقول أبي القاسم الشابي في قصيدته “إلى طغاة العالم”، “حذار فتحت الرماد اللهيب.
