Book Description
كاتب جلبي الشهير ب "حاجي خليفة" (1609م- 1656م) هو أحد أشهر العلماء العثمانيين. كانت كتاباته هي السمة البارزة في دنيا العلم والفكر والثقافة في القرن السابع عشر؛ فهو مؤرخ وجغرافي، وببليوجرافي، وصاحب فكر إصلاحيّ في النواحي السياسية والاجتماعية، والدينية أيضاً. لقي "حاجي خليفة" شهرة واسعة في الدولة العثمانية، وفي أوروبا، وشهرته في العالم العربي ما تزال مستمرة إلى يومنا هذا؛ فقد كتب مؤلفاته باللغتين العربية والعثمانية، وترجمت إلى العديد من اللغات الأوروبية.
وكتابه "تحفة الكبار في أسفار البحار" ألفه باللغة التركية عقب حملة كريت التي بدأت سنة 1055م/ 1646م، وما بعدها من حملات، وقد عايش المؤلف هذه الأحداث؛ فأراد أن يشارك في الإصلاح، ويرفع الروح المعنوية؛ فوضع هذا الكتاب الذي تناول صوراً من أمجاد التاريخ البحري العثماني وانتصاراته. كما استفاض في تقديم معلومات جغرافية وملاحية، وتاريخية، وبحرية. وختمَ كتابَه بفصل به نصائح للبحارة والمهتمين بشئون البحر. ترُجم الكتاب إلى الإنجليزية، والفرنسية، والعديد من اللغات الأوروبية، وتلك أول ترجمة وطبعة له باللغة العربية؛ لنضيف إلى المكتبة العربية مصدراً أساسيًّا ومهمًّا من مصادر التاريخ والحضارة العثمانية التي هي جزء أساسي من تراثنا وتاريخنا، ومكوّن أساسي من مكونات واقعنا المعاصر.
