"بدأت فكرة هذا الكتاب مع صديق أتناقش معه دوماً عن الإدارة وتطوير الذات وتطوير الأعمال وغالباً نناقش تجربة حدثت لنا أو عن كتاب قرأناه وكنت دوماً مبادراً بالتحليل والتحدث عن التجارب التي عشتها ومارستها في مشواري العملي ومشاوير زملائي وأشار علي صديقي هذا أن أبدأ بتدوين هذه المواضيع وعرضها كمدونة أو كتاب أنتفع به كمادة تدريبية في المستقبل للتدريب والاستشارات الإدارية، وبعد أن بدأت بالكتابة أدركت أن الكتاب يجب أن يكون محوره المدير السعودي (المدير الذي يعمل في السعودية حتى لو كان وافداً ) ليوضح للناس ويشرح مدرسة الإدارة في السعودية خصوصاً من جانب القطاع الخاص فالمديرين السعوديين نظراً لانشغالهم بالتميز في مجال عملهم ، لو يجدوا الوقت ليقرؤوا أو يطوروا من أنفسهم وأنا واحد منهم كنت دائماً أعاني في التطبيق لإختلاف بيئة الأعمال لدينا وشح الكتب التي تتكلم عن الإدارة الحديثة .
