فالإسلام يتعرض لأكبر وأشرس حملة تشويه باسم الإسلام، والإلحاد بين شبابنا يتفاقم، و التطرف والإرهاب يختطف عقول شبابنا بفتاوى وكتابات ومعسكرات استقطبت أرواحهم وألقت بهم في أتون حروب وحشية يُنفقون فيها بلا هوادة أو منطق زعما فداء للإسلام، و مؤسسة الأسرة في مهب الريح، من الداخل والخارج، تواجه تحديات خطيرة.
أما آن الأوان أن نفتح كتابه الإصلاحي بشأن المؤسسات الدينية، والمناهج التعليمية، ووضع المرأة والأسرة، ورؤيته الثاقبة لدور التربية الوجدانية/ العقلانية في بناء الإنسان المسلم؟
إن عصرية الأسئلة المطروحة والحلول المقترحة في رؤية الإمام محمد عبده، وبرنامجه الإصلاحي، تعزز أهمية وإمكانية الاستفادة منها؛ بل وضرورة دراستها وخاصة في جوانبها الاجتماعية والتربوية، و جدية إدراجها في أي تخطيط تنموي / إصلاحي مستقبلي، كما هو مرجو في وثيقة (رؤية 2030).
