إن للأخلاق في الإسلام مكانة عظيمة ، ومنزلة رفيعة ، والإسلام جاء ليصحح العقائد ، ويقوم الأخلاق ، ويهذب السلوك الإنساني ، وقد أوضح ذلك نبينا ورسولنا محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم إنما بعثت لأتمم مكارم الأخلاق والتأمل في النصوص الشرعية من آيات كريمة ، وأحاديث شريفة يرى هذا الأمر واضحًا جليًا ، كما أن سيرة المصطفى صلى الله عليه وسلم تفسير عملي ، وتطبيق فعلي واقعي لهذه النصوص العظيمة ، ولهذا أثنى عليه ربه بقوله : ( وإنك لعلى خلق عظيم ) . بل إن خُلُقُه القرآن كما قالت أم المؤمنين عائشة رضي الله عنها عندما وصفت خلقه . وهو بهذا المنهج القويم أراد أن يعطي لأمته صورة المسلم الحقيقي في عقيدته وعبادته وخلقه وسلوكه ، بحيث لا تصبح أمور الدين وأحكامه وتوجيهاته قضايا نظرية لا رصيد لها في أرض الواقع ، بل جعلها واقعًا حيًا يعيشه الناس ، ولا عجب فهو صلى الله عليه وسلم القدوة والأسوة ، وهو الرحمة ، وهو من بعثه الله ؛ ليتمم مكارم الأخلاق .
