عندما تأوّه ، تعمّد أن يخرج تأوّهه عن ضعف كامل، وأضمر داخله أنه حتى الضعف قوّة؛ قوّة التخلّي عن القوّة.
لم يشعر تجاه (إيناس) بالحبّ، وعاتبته لأنه لم يستطع كرهها كذلك. في غير وجوده باحت بما يشحبها: ليس بالحب وحده يُصنع العالم. بالكراهية أيضًا.
مرّت عليها لقطات متقنة، مسح بها شعاع زمني الأشياء حولها وداخلها، ولاحظت هي بشيء من الصدفة، استحقته لتفرّغها، أن (سامر) يضطلع بحزن، لا لقطة متقنة له سوى نظرة مطبوخة في ماء عين لم يمزّق أستارها فضول ولا رغبة، منذ إرهاصة الشروق الأول.
اليوم تأوه، ورأت حزنه كاملًا في غيرما لقطة، وبدا شعاعًا يمسح على مصير وكشف.
ذهبت بالورقة التي خطّ بها كلمات مشوّشة إلى (رجائي) الذي - وحده – رآها غير مشوّشة، وعادت بلقطة له في دمع وذهول، وورقة منه بكلمات لا تقلّ تشوشاً عن كلمات (سامر)؛ وكان أن رآها (سامر) غير مشوشة فبكى.
(إيناس) الحبلى بكل الماضي وحدها، ستنجب ذرية الأيام الوحيدة؛ حيث تؤنسها تجاعيد وجهها في الصباح، وانكماش زهرتها في الليل. ستكون لـ (إيناس) معرفة كثيفة بالقوانين التي تسيّر التنانين حارسة الحكايات. ستحكي لأطفال غير موجودين، وسيكبرون وقد آمنوا بحبّ الأساطير، لا بها.
ليس يؤلمها صخبهم أسفل شرفتها ثابتة اللقطة، وهم يخلقون صفاتها من وعيهم الذي يعجنه عجزهم عن التخيّل، وهي لم يعد يشغلها ضمور ثدييها، ولم تعد راغبة – كذلك – في اقتناء الحيوانات التي باتت تموت جائعة، أو بفعل الملل.
