لذَّةُ الخروجِ عن السَّطر
نادت المعلمة على اسمه فوقف. أمرته أن يتقدَّم نحوَها واصفةً إيـَّاه بالحمار. ارتعدَ جسدُه الصغيرُ الذي لمـَّا يُجاوِز الثامنةَ بعدُ. يعرفُ ما ينتظره. سيمدُّ كفَّه مقلوبةً على ظهرِها للمُدَرِّسة التي أشرعت بالفعل مسطرتها الخشبيةَ موجِّهةً حافَّتها المُدَبـَّبةَ نحوَه.
«كام مرة قلت لك ما تخرجش عن السَّطر؟»
لم تنتظر إجابته بل ألقت الكرَّاس المهترئ في وجهه. طارَ الكُرَّاسُ و صدمَه. إحساس مُضاعَف بالألم والمهانة، فقد سمعَ ضحكَ الفصل عليه.

فمدَّ يدَه. علَّمته التجاربُ المريرةُ - مع هذه المُعَلِّمة بالتحديد - ألاَّ يستعطفها، و ألاَّ يبكي مهما كان الألم. يعرفُ أنَّ عدمَ استعطافها و امتناعه عن البُكاء يُزيدانِ في حنقِها عليه، يعرفُ أيضًا أنَّ هذه وسيلته الوحيدة في استردادِ كبريائه أمامَ الفَصل، وفي عدم تمكينها من الهزءِ به مُجدَّدًا.
«سأبكي بعدين» قال لألمه، وهو يشدُّ على أسنانه، وجسدُه ممدودٌ أمامها.
سأله صديقُه في الفُسحة.. «بتخرج ليه عن السَّطر؟». عرض عليه أن يدرِّبه على الكتابة على السَّطر.
هزَّ كتفه باستهانةٍ، وهو ينفخُ في يده المتورِّمة المتقشِّـفة المحمرَّة الآن من الضَّربات «مش عاوز»، سأله الآخر: «إيه هو اللي مش عاوزه؟»، فقال باستهانةٍ و مُتعةٍ «مش عاوز أخليني على السَّطر».
