"إرنكن" صوت الأمل كلمة إفريقية قديمة كانت تطلق على ما نسميه الآن بالوعي اللافكري وهو ما يساعد الإنسان ويزيده قوة حيث يعطي سببا وجيهاً يجعل الإنسان يكمل حياته دون التأثر بمتاعب الحياة لأن الأمل يحتاج دائماً إلى جانبه لصوت يقظه صوت يذكرنا دائماً بأن الله عز وجل يعلمنا كيف نبحث عنه في هذا العالم الكبير. أحيانًا منا من يظل في هذه الحياة يحلم بشئ ويأمل أن يصل إليه وقبل الوصول بخطوة نتخلى عن الحياة ونيأس ونظن أننا نعيش في ظلام ولكننا لو تأملنا هذه الحياة سنجد أن الظلام بدايه للنور والشتاء بداية للصيف والفشل بداية للنجاح والتوتر بداية للسعادة وبعد العاصفة تشرق الشمس، أي أن كل شيء في هذه الحياة بداية لشيء حسن حتى الموت بداية لحياة جديدة، وهنا وجد أبطال الرواية صوت إرنكن. كل شخص يجدها بشيء ما، وبطل الرواية وجدها بصوت ظل يتردد عليه في كل أوقاته ما بين الحزن والفرح لم يتركه أبداً حتى ظن كل من حوله أنه مريض بداء النداهة وتتوالى الخرافات لمعالجته بالدجل وما إلى أخره حتى يخفى تلك السر ليكبر بداخله ويظل يرافقه فى كل شيء وتتوارى الأيام حتى يشاء القدر بجمعهم تلك الروح الواحدة المنقسمة بجسدين هذه هي إرنكن التى بوجودها تغير مسار حياتهم جميعاً إرنكن فريدة.
