يتألف الكتاب من عشرة فصول تتطرق فيها المؤلفة إلى حياة ليلى مراد الاجتماعية، وعلاقاتها الإنسانية التي جمعتها بطبيبها الخاص، ومصممة أزيائها هدى النجار. وقد رصدت المؤلفة شهادات العديد من الذين عاصروا ليلى مراد، ومنهم الإعلامية آمال فهمي، والملحن حلمي بكر ووجدي الحكيم، ووالد المؤلفة الكاتب الصحفي مفيد فوزي.
وكتبت عن دخولها عالم السينما وعلاقتها بحسن الصيفي، وأهم الأفلام التي قدمتها للسينما المصرية، وما حصلت عليه من شهادات تقدير وجوائز عن أعمالها، وأيضاً قصة إسلامها ومطاردة إسرائيل لها، والحب فى حياتها. ومن خلال فصول الكتاب تكشف المؤلفة العلاقات المهمة في حياة ليلى مراد، ومنها علاقتها بكل من الفنان عبد الحليم حافظ والموسيقار محمد عبد الوهاب، وأخيها الملحن المعروف منير مراد.
