عرف عنها ميلها إلى كتابة الأدب البوليسي وتسعى في رواياتها إلى تحليل عقول المجرمين وطريقة تفكيرهم.
كتبت ثماني روايات منها "القاتل" التي فازت بجائزة "ذوكس آوشنز" و"الجحيم" الفائزة بجائزة "جابوتي" ومؤخراً وصلت روايتاها:"الفالس الأسود" و"العالم المفقود" إلى القائمة الطويلة للجائزة الدولية الأدبية "آي إم بي إيه سي دبلن" كما كتبت عدة مسرحيات منها"نظام العالم" وامرأتان وجثة" والتي تم تمثيلها على المسرح عام 2001.
تعيش باتريسيا ما بين البرازيل وسويسرا.

"ماذا تفعل إن ذهبت لقضاء يوم على الشاطئ، وفجأة تجد طائرة تسقط أمامك. تذهب لترى ماذا حدث وتجد الطيَّار حيًّا بالكاد، تقول له: أنت محظوظ جدًا، جدًا، جدًا لأنك سقطت من السماء ولا تزال على قيد الحياة.
لكنه يموت، وتجد في طائرته حقيبة مليئة بالكوكايين، ماذا تفعل؟ هل تسلمها للشرطة أم تأخذها وتبيع ما بها؟
ومن ناحية أخرى حبيبتك، تعمل بالشرطة، وأهل الطيَّار، أغنياء واسعي النفوذ، ويريدون جثة ابنهم، وأنت آخر من رآها، ولكن أين ذهبت الجثة؟
بطلنا ممزق ببين عالمين، عالم يحاول فيه أن يعيش حياة كريمة، وعالمًا يجبره على الاتجاه في طريق الجريمة، وبين كل هذا يحاول ألا يخسر نفسه وإنسانيته.
في سياق درامي ساخر، يحكي لنا بطلنا المجهول ما حدث معه، وجعله سارقًا للجثث.
