يضم دراستين أكاديميتين، الدراسة الأولى "تقييم المعالجة الإعلامية لحوادث اغتيال رموز الدولة بعد ثورة 30 يونيو: "دراسة حالة لحادثة اغتيال النائب العام هشام بركات"، أما الدراسة الثانية فعنوانها "القائم بالاتصال وإشكاليات معالجة قضايا الإرهاب: استطلاع رأي الإعلاميين حول استراتيجية إعلامية لمواجهة الظاهرة الإرهابية"، ولعله يُلاحظ أن ثمة تكامل بين الدراستين، ففي السبيل إلى وضع مقترح استراتيجية خاصة بالتعاطي الإعلامي لظاهرة الإرهاب ومعالجتها إعلاميًا في إطار من المهنية المسؤولة، كان لا بد من دراسة حالة، تمثلت في تعامل الإعلام مع حادث اغتيال النائب العام المستشار هشام بركات، ومن جانب آخر كان من الضروري التواصل مع العاملين في عدد من وسائل الإعلام للإطلاع على رؤيتهم وتقييمهم للممارسة الإعلامية المتعلقة بتغطية ومعالجة الإرهاب، انطلاقًا من خبرتهم العملية والظروف التي يعملون فيها وما يواجهونه من ضغوط ومشكلات.
على هذا النحو.. يتعرض الكتاب للكثير من الموضوعات والقضايا والإشكاليات التي تتعلق بالمعالجة الإعلامية للإرهاب، منها مسألة تعاون مصادر المعلومات مع الصحفيين والإعلاميين، وحق الجمهور في المعرفة، وحرية الرأي والتعبير، وحرية الممارسة الصحفية والإعلامية والمشكلات التي تظهر عند تغطية حوادث الإرهاب ومعالجتها إعلاميًا، وفي المقابل مشكلة الإنفلات الإعلامي وضعف تأهيل الصحفيين والإعلاميين، وغيرها من ظواهر أصبحت سمات رئيسة لبعض وسائل الإعلام. بالإضافة إلى إشكالية أخرى تتعلق بعمق المعالجة الإعلامية في مواجهة سطحيتها، ثم تبرز قضية أخرى تتمثل في تداخل بعض المصطلحات والمفاهيم المتعلقة بالتطرف والعنف والإرهاب، وغير ذلك من قضايا وإشكاليات.
