لعين لا تزال تخترق ظهري. التفت فوجدته يدخل من باب مكتبة مختبئاً في كتاب يتحدث عن جغرافية العالم. انتزعت الكتاب. بحثت عنه في محيطين وبين أشجار غابتين كبيرتين فكاد صقر ينتزع عينيّ من محجريهما. شتمني البائع لما سببته للطلبة الصغار من هلع. تقدم أحدهم وفتح كشكوله فرسمت له قمراً يبتسم. تحمس أقرانه فرسمت لهم أشجاراً وطيوراً تعزف موسيقي. اكتمل بطن الحصان في السماء. توقف أبي عند مدخل مطعم متواضع من ثلاثة أدوار. ارتقيت الدرج خلفه حتي اختفي في المطبخ مذهولاً من تحوله لملعقة قلّب بها أحدهم حساءً في آنية كبيرة. بخار الحساء أقرب إلي ضباب شتوي علي قمة جبل. طرده الطهاة بأفواههم حتي لا يشوّش علي مجال رؤيتهم. ظنوني متسولاً فركلوني بأقدامهم إلي قاعة الطعام. قرّبني شاب ثلاثيني من منضدته، فرأينا من خلال الجدار الزجاجي البخار أثناء تمدده في السماء. حكيت للشاب عن أبي الذي يطاردني وعن وجهتي بصحبة أوراقي توقفت عن الحكي بإشارة من يده. أخرج مفكرته الصغيرة من جيبه ليدوّن ما قلت. أضفت شيئاً آخر: أن ما أراه أمامي قد دوّنه أبي في أوراقه منذ عشرين عاماً. شكرني الشاب لأنني ألهمته كتابة قصة بعد توقف دام لثلاث سنوات. نصحني بالذهاب إلي المبني وعدم الخوف لأن الجميع مر من هناك دون استثناء، وأن دخوله ليس نهاية المطاف كما يقول كتّاب الأعمدة في الصحف اليومية. انصرفت وقد أكمل بخار الحساء رأس الحصان وقائمتيه الأماميتين".
