في الكتاب حديث عن بضعة وثلاثين داعية، من الذكور والإناث، صُنّفوا على أربعة أقسام، بحسب الجهة التي انطلقوا من خلالها: من الجامع، أو الجامعة، أو الفضائيّات، أو الكتب. كما رتّبنا الأسماء تَبَعاً لسنة الولادة، وتناولنا السيرة الذاتية والمسيرة العلميّة والمؤلّفات وبعض الخصائص التي يتميّز بها الداعية، وانتخبنا شيئاً من أقواله كي تتكوّنَ لدى القارئ فكرة إجمالية عنه. وتنوّعت مصادرنا بين الكتب واللقاءات الشخصيّة والمراسلة ومواقع الدعاة أنفسهم. وكان المعيار الأساسي في الاختيار هو مدى التأثير الذي يحققه الداعية، ومدى انتشار أفكاره خارج محيطه القطري، مع مراعاة التنوّع بحيث يكون لدى كل داعية، ورد ذكره في الكتاب، جانب يتميّز فيه عن سواه، وحرصنا - قدر الإمكان - على تنوّع البلاد العربية التي ينتمون إليها - وهم - جميعاً ـ أحياء.
