إن الأمر الجيد بجنون هو ما يذهب بك أبعد مما تتوقعه، لدرجة تشعر معها بالقشعريرة تسري في ذراعيك حين تراه؛ لذلك تخيل ما يبدو عليه هذا الشيء كي تعيشه.
معظم الأشخاص (وأنا منهم، في معظم فترات حياتي) يتأرجحون بين السيئ والجيد؛ إذ نكون سيئين في شيء ما، لكننا نكون جيدين في شيء آخر، وعندما نريد الوصول إلى ما نرى أنه شيء جيد، لا يكون هذا الشيء فى الحقيقة جيدًا بتلك الدرجة التي نراه عليها؛ فالشيء الذي نرى أنه جيد جدًّا، عادة ما يكون في أغلب الأحيان جيدًا فحسب.
وذلك لن يجعل العالم أفضل أبدًا.
فالعالم يكون أفضل حين يكون ما نسعى إلى تحقيقه أفضل كثيرًا مما يجب أن يكون عليه، هذا لا يحدث إلا حين يمر إحساس الدهشة الخاطف في العمود الفقري صعودًا وهبوطًا.
أشعر بالتردد في أن أعطي أمثلة؛ لأنك قد لا تقتنع بها حتى النهاية، ولكنك سوف تفهم الفكرة، غالبًا، (يمكن أن تعثر على أمثلتك الخاصة بمجرد أن تفهم الفكرة)، أما هذه الأمثلة، فهي أمثلتي الشخصية:
كانت فرقة ذا ستونز جيدة، ولكن فرقة ذا بيتلز كانت جيدة بجنون، وكذلك مطر الربيع جيد، ولكن العاصفة الرعدية جيدة بجنون، ويعد سيرك رينجلينج براذرز جيدًا، بينما سيرك دو جيد بجنون.
كانت الهواتف الخلوية أمرًا جيدًا، ولكن حين اخترع "ستيف جوبز" الآيفون أصبح هذا أفضل بكثير مما كان من المتوقع أن يكون، فضلًا عن أنه أكثر جاذبية وإبداعًا، ولذلك كان جيدًا بجنون. كان الرسام "مونيه" جيدًا، ولكن "فان جوخ" كرسام كان جيدًا بجنون، وإن كانت الشاعرة "إليزابيث بيشوب" جيدة، فالشاعرة "إميلي ديكنسون" كانت جيدة بجنون، كذلك كانت شخصية "الجوكر" التي قدمها الممثل "جاك نيكلسون" جيدة، ولكن دور "الجوكر" الذي جسده "هيث ليدجر" كان جيدًا ... بجنون، وهكذا.
يذهب الخير الوفير إلى أبعد مما يمكن أن يتوقعه أي منا، مثل هطول أمطار غير متوقعة على أرض قاحلة؛ لذلك لا يوجد هذا الشخص المهيَّأ حقًّا لاستقبال السعادة التي يجلبها هذا الشيء الجيد بجنون.
