والخبر السار هو أن التقدم في علم الأعصاب وعلم النفس يعني - ربما لأول مرة في التاريخ - أننا على وشك التوصل إلى مستوى معين من الإجماع حول أساسيات عمل عقولنا، وما تحتاج إليه للأداء بشكل أفضل. وبالرغم من أن هذا المجال من الأبحاث العلمية حديث نسبيًّا، ومثير للجدل والاختلاف، فإنه من الممكن استخلاص بعض الاستنتاجات عن كيفية عملنا، بل وكيفية العمل بشكل أفضل.
