(فلاش باك) رواية في فصول، تحكي قصة لبنان، بتنوعه وغناه، وتعايشه الغرائبي، ترصد "شذا شرف الدين" حكايته، وتتسقط أخباره، وتصوغها في أثر روائي ينطلق من تجربة خاصة لفتاة مسلمة تعلمت في مدرسة مسيحية، الأمر الذي يحول الرواية إلى ملحمة ومختبر لمشاعر وتجارب إنسانية شتى.
جاءت الرواية بمثابة سيرة روائية للكاتبة، تعكس من خلالها خاصية الإنسجام والتعايش بين اللبنانيين، قبل الحرب وتبدلها مع بدء الحرب الأهلية اللبنانية، وأثرها على الناس، أيضا ترصد الكاتبة التحول في العلاقات الإجتماعية وطريقة عيش الناس، وحرصهم على إيمانهم، الذي تحول فجأة إلى مظاهر نعرفها جميعنا " ... صاروا يعلقون في أرجاء المنزل مثلا صوراً لرجال دين لا تربطهم بهم القرابة (...) ثم راحوا يزينون الطاولات بالمسابح بمختلف ألوانها، والسيوف القديمة المدموغ عليها إسم إمام ما، (...) صحيح أنني تركت منزل والدي حين كنت في السادسة عشرة، لكني لم أكن أشعر بغربة عنه حين كنت أزورهم، اليوم، صار بيتهم يشبه بيوت أناس كثيرين من طائفتهم، أكثر مما يشبه المنزل الذي كبرت فيه (...)".

يوم طلبتُ من Sœur ماري الدخول إلى الكنيسة ساعة "الكورال"، نظرت إليّ بهدوء مرتبك ثمّ قالت: طبعاً تستطيعين.
لم أفكّر في تلك اللحظة لماذا قالت مادوموازيل نجوى "مسلميّة" ولم تقل "مسلمة" مثلما تقولها أمي. لم يخطر لي أنّ الربّ، قد يُفضّل أن يكون المرء مسيحيّاً، وأن هذا ما أغضب مادوموازيل نجوى... في الواقع، لم أكن قد فكرّت بخواص الرب والإشكاليات التي يثيرها عند الناس، حتى ذلك الحين.
