ومن أجل مواجهة الزيادة السكانية والتحديات الاقتصادية والاجتماعية في المنطقة، نرى أصحاب الأعمال الخيرية المحليين يزيدون من التزاماتهم تجاه تحقيق الرفاهية للعامة. في الواقع، لم تكن هذه مفاجأة بالنسبة للكثيرين منا، فعلى أية حال، تعاليم الدين الإسلامي والثقافة العربية تؤكد مسئولية الفرد تجاه المجتمع. وكما جاء في حديث الرسول صل الله عليه وسلم: «لا يؤمن أحدكم حتى يحب لأخيه ما يحب لنفسه». (رواه البخاري ومسلم).
