إذا كان الشعر سبراً لغور المجهول، ومحاولة للولوج إلى العالم من خلال أسئلة يطرحها؛ عبر تكوين لغوي معين يحمل مضامين مختلفة، فإن الشعر عند "فيصل الجبعاء" هو خطاب مغاير تشكله رؤية عميقة للعالم والأشياء، وهو ما يعد إستجابة طبيعية للحركة الحديثة التي ظهرت في تجارب الجيل الجديد من الشعراء مواكبة لحركة الحداثة الشعرية التي رسمت بُعدها الإبداعي في العالم العربي منذ ظهورها؛ إنه الشعر الذي خلع معطف النص القديم، وأُلبس آخر جديد كسر أغلفة الرتابة والجمود التي غلفت ألسنة السابقين، وأدخل المتلقي في حوار جاد مع النص وهو ما يفعله الشاعر الجبعاء في "عني عن الليل" في رحلة إلى الذات يقول: "آبَتْ... من السفر البعيد ركابي... وتركتُ في آثارها أصحابي... وخلعت عن وجهي... قناع قناعتي... ولبست ما لا أرتضي كثياب... سافرتُ... من ذاتي إلى ذاتي.... ولم أخلع ثياب الشاعر الكذاب... حتى إنعكاس في المرايا... لايشي... بكآبتي وبغربتي وعذابي... أين إبتساماتي التي وزعتها... في أوجه الأصحاب والأغراب...! تاجرت في سوق السعادة حقبةً... والآن في سوق الهموم أرابي...!.
بهذه الكلمات، ينطلق الشاعر للتعبير عن كائن متخبط في حياة موجعة، معادلاً بذلك ثيمة الحزن كاشفاً عن حالة غربة، تتلبس إنسان هذا العصر، مولداً بذلك التأثير الأعمق في نفس المتلقي المشارك بالضرورة للحالة "فأنا وحيد" رغم كثرتهم... لا شيء إلا غربتي وأنا...!... الأرض صحراء تطوقني... لم أستطع أن أغلب الزمنا...
يضم الديوان أربع وستوان قصيدة تراوحت بين الشعر العامودي وقصيدة النثر جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "إني أنا أنتم" "سيناء قلب"، "تراتيل من سورة الأرق"، "طين" "النار تأكل من ظنوني"، "مفاجأة"، "قنديل الحنان"... وقصائد أخرى.
