إن أحداث هذه الرواية قد ركزت على أن القارئ يتابع بشغف سطورًا مكتوبة عن جريمة سرقة بنك، وأن يتابع أيضًا سطورًا غير مكتوبة عن سرقة وطن وأمة وتاريخ. وتمضي أحداث السرقتين متوازيتين يربط بينهما ذلك الخيط القصصي السلس الذي ينتقل من نقطة إلى أخرى وأنت تتمنى بكل جوارحك أن تنجح السرقة المكتوبة لما أحاط بها من نبل هدف وسمو قصد ومتمنيًا في الوقت نفسه، وبكل الجوارح أيضًا، ألا تصل السرقة الثانية غير المكتوبة إلى مبتغاها؛ حتى يتبقى لنا بصيص من الأمل في أن تشرق الشمس ثانية، وأن نحظى بما نستحق من عيشة كريمة وعظيمة.
