نسمع كثيراً عن خيانات البشر لبعضهم البعض، لا بل غدرهم أحياناً، ولكن لم نعلم أن خيانة الوقت قد يكون ثمنها الموت أحياناً. في ساعة ضائعة مسروقة هي فرق الإنتقال من توقيت الشتاء إلى توقيت الربيع في مدينة أنقرة التركية تفرغ حياة (أيوب) من أسبابها وتتوقف معها الحياة حيث يؤدي حادث سير بحبيبته (إيليف) الفتاة التي رآها في ليلة باردة من ليالي أنقرة، واستمرت بعد ذلك أربع سنوات ملئت عليه حياته بعد أن غادر المملكة في رحلة عمل. فرق ساعة لم ينتبه له (أبواب) غط في نوم عميق، ولم يدرك (إيليف) في محطة الحافلات ليتقابلا –كما في كل صباح- في طريق العمل. فوَت الموعد، لكن الموت في موعده تماماً خطف (إيليف) في حادث سير غير ملتفت للوقت. من هذه الواقعة، البؤرة يثير الراوي مشاعر الفقد على خلفية "السيد وقت" الذي لم يسرق ساعة وحسب، بل حياة بأكملها "إذاً إنه الوقت الذي أفسد كل شيء الآن أفسد كل ما حدث، أفسد حياته وذطرياته، وسيفسد عليه مستقبله، سيفسد عليه أيامه حتى اللحظة الأخيرة والنفس الأخير(...)".
